Inspired by the Norwich School and the English tradition but developing a contemporary take on those works. Wild landscapes, storms, drama, dark colours. Completing the painting over several sessions in the studio. A process of creating heavily textured. Painting becomes sculptural, building up thick layers, small and compelling pieces. A dissatisfaction with the image and painting over and over again. Extreme in thickness. Convey a sense of the force of nature, its moods and drama.

Theodore King
Born in Wales in 1960. Worked in a shop in north Pembrokeshire. A taste for romantic art is usually accompanied by conservative views. Developing a love for the English landscape in her late twenties. Lives in Great Yarmouth.
